Why?

Protein alone isn’t magic. It is 1️⃣ piece to help with hormonal weight loss in perimenopause (aka when you start gaining weight for no reason & can’t lose it)

❌Mistakes you’re making with protein that 🛑 your weight loss

1️⃣Eating too much dairy. Cottage cheese, Greek yogurt are all the rage but if every meal & snack is relying on dairy protein, it may be too much

This can ⬆️ constipation/reflux/bloating & inflammation for some, holding you back from losing weight. 1-2 servings a day is good if tolerated. Nonorganic dairy contains added hormones that disrupts your balance too

2️⃣Getting “more” protein but still not getting enough

You’re including protein in meals but not getting enough. Use a food scale or tracker to hit 35+ grams per meal

3️⃣Relying too heavily on high protein bars/snack foods

These have the grams but won’t satisfy your body nutritionally plus they have additives that aren’t ideal for your health

4️⃣Eating foods that have protein, but not enough
1 egg=6g protein
½ cup beans=7g protein
1 tbsp. almond butter=3g protein
vs 3oz chicken=21g

Just because it has protein doesn’t mean you’re getting enough grams per meal

5️⃣Only focusing on protein & not shifting to slower digesting carbs

If you’ve been using the same 5-10 pound weights for years, it’s time to upgrade. Using heavier weights will help you look less bulky as you will lose inches

2️⃣Not including the right amount of protein & nutrition to support body composition shifts. If you are trying to gain lean mass & lose fat with strength training, you need enough protein to support muscle gains (most women are not getting as much as they think)

1) I stopped going to the gym. I realized that lugging my 2 little babies to the gym & dealing with the commute wasn’t working. 2) I stopped running. Nothing wrong with running, but I used to only focus on burning calories on the treadmill. If you’re serious about losing weight, strength training is king, running is bonus

3) I stopped choosing random YouTube workouts. This was based on what I “felt” like doing, or what sounded good, not what I needed. I could never find the right intensity or program & therefore, saw no results

1) Fueling the body with nutrient dense foods vs. calorie restriction & counting (give your body what it actually needs to be well)

2) Building a strong, healthy body vs. exercising to burn calories (more muscle = better metabolic function, injury prevention, & health)

3) Balanced Blood sugar: when you learn HOW, WHEN, & WHAT to eat (not just eat x calories and y grams of protein, good luck figuring it out on your own)...we see sugar & snack cravings disappear, you don’t feel deprived, you sleep better, your mood improves, & depression/anxiety go away

4) Eating the right types of foods. You can achieve 1500 calories with cookies and coffee drinks or we can do it with foods that reduce inflammation, stabilize blood sugar, & optimize energy. Healthy people know what to fuel with

💥Maybe you’re like I was: constantly in a bat

💥Maybe you’re like I was: constantly in a battle for the 10-15 pounds that won’t go away. Trying all the latest hacks to lose the weight & exhausted at the thought of psyching yourself up for what will most likely be another failed attempt at feeling better & losing weight

🔥But I lost 15 pounds & completely changed my body composition & relationship with food

In my early 20’s I considered myself a healthy eater & I regularly hit the elliptical at the gym, but I continued to gain weight & didn’t know why

I tried to lose weight in all the ways I thought were correct: eating less, more cardio, skipping breakfast, having only popcorn for dinner

I would lose 5 pounds but then as soon as I stopped being overly restrictive (because I was ahh....hungry!) I would gain the weight back

I remember feeling really trapped. Like: am I doomed to struggle with this same 10 pounds the rest of my life?

I didn’t even feel healthy

But after losing 15 pounds, keeping it off for years without feeling hungry, calorie counting, or sacrificing my sanity, I can tell you there IS a better way that is NOT a “diet” but is rooted in the “why behind the weight”

Once I started focusing on the things my body needed to be healthy vs. only the scale, I easily lost the weight & kept it off for over 10 years (even after 2 babies)
