☀️ Vitamin D is one of the only vitamins our b ☀️ Vitamin D is one of the only vitamins our bodies can make in large enough quantities to meet our daily needs. 
☀️When our bare skin is exposed to the sun (UVB rays) it stimulates Vitamin D production 

☀️In my nutrition practice, Vitamin D deficiency is extremely common, especially in patients with autoimmune disease, thyroid dysfunction, diabetes and blood sugar imbalance, obesity, depression and other mental health struggles

💚Nearly EVERY cell in our body has a receptor for Vitamin D, meaning it needs it!! 🙌🏼 
Deficiency is felt all over.

🐠 There aren’t many naturally occurring dietary sources of Vitamin D, showing the importance of humans getting outside during the day and getting sun. 

🙌🏼Here are ways to naturally boost your Vitamin D:

☀️Get 15-20min of unprotected sun exposure everyday between the hours of 10am and 3pm

🍣🐟Include fatty fish like salmon and tuna in your diet 2-3x/week. 

🥚 Eat eggs with the Egg yolk for breakfast 

☀️ Avoid using sunscreen for the first 15-20min of your sun exposure 

💚If you are deficient, take 5,000-10,000IUs of Vitamin D3 + K2 until your levels are 40 or above, then drop to a maintenance dose of 1000-2000IU per day. You may need more in the winter. Many doctors fail to put patients on a maintenance dose after the therapeutic dose and deficiency returns

🌰Take magnesium with your Vitamin D. Many people are deficient in magnesium which limits the body’s ability to produce Vitamin D
