🔥I hear a lot “eat carbs” “don’t eat carbs”…but can we stop for a second and realize that term and message is super confusing? 

Carbohydrates are a diverse group of foods. For weight loss we should be eating whole, unprocessed nutrient dense carbohydrates in place of added sugars and processed grain products 

👉🏻But when you hear “eat carbs” it gives the message of eating cookies and bagels for weight loss. It’s really a balance of the right types in the right portion and combination through the day vs just hitting macro numbers 

Focus on these slow digesting unprocessed carbohydrates is the 🔑 to sustained energy and maximum metabolic function

👉🏻In reality the expectation of weight just “falling off” at 10-20# per week doesn’t usually happen unless someone has a lot of weight to lose or in some cases, inflammatory weight that is mostly fluid

…but thanks to the diet industry, people feel discouraged that they only lost 1 or 2# for their efforts and give up. But in reality that’s perfect 🤩 

🔥Losing weight faster than 1-2# or 1% of your body weight is not going to be all fat mass, you’ll lose a lot of muscle which reduces your metabolism, and your body can go into panic starvation mode making it easier to regain the weight. Drastic weight loss is generally not achieved without drastic measures that are unsustainable 

⭐️Instead, focus on a consistent, sustainable food and exercise plan that you can do week in and week out, and the weight will come.
